One Day to Vacay

It's been several months since I went on a hard-core vacation. The last time was a beach trip with my sister in the early months of summer. It's high time I go on another one, and so what if I'm going to the exact same destination--Boracay. This trip will be different. I'm going there with Michael, and it's going to be our first vacation together. It's only fitting now that we're engaged, well on our way towards married life, and starting to get busy for the wedding preparations. A good dose of R&R is exactly what we need.

On top of that, my girls are gonna be there and my parents, too! So it's gonna be one big party for all of us.

I can hardly wait!

Getaway with the Gals

I am having the absolute best time with my girls here in Boracay. So sad it's about to end in a couple of hours as we will all be flying back to Manila in 10 hours. These past three days has indeed been a refreshing time, and it wouldn't have been possible without the company of my best gals.

Lovely Day

I had a full and lovely day. I can't but feel overwhelmed.

In the morning, I had a blast doing a photo shoot for a new condo's promotional material. This I did with one of my closest friends, Bianca.

The afternoon was spent in a go see for a TVC. Bianca and I tagged along with my sister. We all tried out and had a good laugh about the long wait and the silly VTR task of having to say "Bakit ba?" in five different ways (happy, sad, scared, etc...).

In the evening, my sister and I headed straight to Araneta Coliseum to see LIfehouse. Undoubtedly one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. I was literally in tears at the end of it, especially since Broken was their last song.Pareissa in the meet and greet with Lifehouse

To top all that, Pareissa (another wonderful gal pal), my sister and I hung out at Alchemy, where Lifehouse spent their last night here in the Philippines to wind down. This was a good three hours of having them just meters away from me. Without wanting to sound cheesy, it was a good feeling to have them there in the exact same place, considering how their music has made such a huge impact on my life especially in the past few months. How I wanted to tell them that they have inspired me in ways unimaginable! I couldn't, of course, since I wanted to give them their privacy. It was enough for me to see them up close and to interact with them even if only in passing.
That's them behind me in the photo.

I'm listening to their bonus CD right now, which I purchased before the concert. It's a great way to end this memorable day.

Thank you, Lord, that I feel and finally see You healing my heart - that you use different ways and various people in the process.

Lifehouse singing Broken to end their show.

Therapy

I would not readily admit this, but I'd been feeling a tad sad these past few days. There's just been a lot of issues running through my head, and being a woman, I obviously got all emotional about everything. I thought to myself, however, that this was no way to spend the long weekend. I was supposed to have fun and get all the rest I needed for the hectic week ahead. Instead, I found myself feeling restless, anxious, melancholic, and altogether emo. Forgive me, anti-emo readers.

This day was good for me though. I realize this as it comes to a close. I had a lovely time with some of my best gal pals at breakfast, girl talk over coffee the whole morning, and stalking people on the internet (yes, we do that!). It was therapeutic in a sense that I forgot all the crap that I'd been preoccupied with by simply being silly with my girls.

I then met up with a good friend, my discipler to be specific, and had a nice cup of tea with her. I needed someone to pour out to and perhaps to remind me to keep my focus on God. There's no denying how distracted I've been lately, and I guess I needed to hear it from someone I respected and looked up to: I must keep my focus. This goes without saying that I did a little more than rant and rave; I shed a tear or two in public. Embarassing. But I felt so much better after.

Therapy would not have been complete without a little side trip to the boutiques. So there. Retail therapy was attained in purchasing a nice blue-green dress. Call me a ditz, but shopping does have its good purposes.

I just needed to get that out of my system. I'm quite positive things will start looking up within the next few days.

Badminton

My friends have been inviting me to join their weekly badminton games, but I had been too busy to join them. But last week, I decided to stop making excuses and just go for it, so after three years, I pulled my badminton rackets out of the stockroom, cleaned them and played a little with the shuttle cocks just to see if I still had the eye-hand coordination.

I'm probably a bit rusty, but it should be fun to get back into the sport. Besides, I'd like to believe ANYONE can play it if not for competition, then plainly and simply for fun.

WIth My GIrls

I finally get the R&R I've longed for, lacked, and needed for the longest time. This is my third (and hopefully not final) vacation this summer. My sister, Bianca and I are at Boracay and will be staying here for 4 glorious days. It's only day one and already, I feel rejuvinated away from the hussle and bussle of the city.

Three more days!

Vigan Stop

I've never spent so much time on the road. 9 hours on the way to Baguio two days ago and a total of 12 hours to and from Vigan.

Here's a shot from our day trip to Vigan. We were jumping for joy and blocking the view of the Lumang Kampana (Old Belfry) in Vigan, Ilocus Sur.

I'm having so much fun here in Baguio as well, but I can't wait to come home and post all my photos. My friends and I all went trigger happy with our cameras, but then again, the best souvenirs we can bring home are our memories captured in photographs.

13 + 10

I am now officially 13 years old... plus 10! I'm so grateful to all the people who remembered my birthday. Thank you all! The kind words and greetings truly made my day.

This is how I know I have great friends: they didn't object when I lit my birthday candles.

"13"

Either I look it, act it, or they just cut me some slack since it was MY birthday after all.

Seriously though, my only wish is that God fills my life with even more wonderful people. The greetings, the gifts and the simple party were all a reminder that the past 23 years have been enriched by people who have stepped into my life. I feel so blessed that I actually want to hug the world, if that's at all possible!

Here's to a great 24th year of existence!

The Bad Gang

Not in photo: Noelle, Joy and Flo

Despite missing a few members, my college/badminton friends and I spent a good hour just cam-whoring in almost every spot at my house last Sunday. In case you're wondering, we call ourselves the Badminton Gang because the sport was one of the reasons we got together in the first place. Pretty obvious, eh? Most of them are people I met in college, either as blockmates or orgmates. Still, the common denominator would have to be badminton and how we'd spend Saturday mornings playing the sport and then proceeding onto a hearty lunch, followed by coffee talks that would last til just about dinner time. I miss those carefree days.

What I love about this group of people most is that we just never run out of things to discuss. We can literally talk the night away, which is pretty much what took place during most of our sleepless sleepovers at my home.

So, despite the changes of no longer being in college (or on allowance!) and not getting together for Badminton anymore, we still have a lot of common ground; among them being our love for eating, knack for arguing about both serious and trivial issues, and most of all, our ability to agree to disagree on a lot of them. (Sorry for the cliche) Of course, I cannot NOT mention that we're all vain in our own ways. Don't believe me? See photos below.

Happy Birthday, Miday!

Just before leaving for Palawan, I had a little reunion with one of my best friends from way way way back. And I'm such a bad friend that I forgot to greet her while I was on vacation. Tsk tsk...

Happy Birthday, Miday! Hope you had a grand time on your special day. I'll make it up to you, sweetie. What ever happened to that joint birthday bash?

Venus/Aphrodite
You are the Greek goddess Aphrodite, also known as Venus to the Romans. You are the goddess of love, lust, desire and fertility. You have been called the most beautiful of goddesses and undoubtedly the most desirable. But you are also known for your hot temper, and the ease with which you grow jealous of women that profess to be more beautiful than you. You also own a special girdle which has the power to drive men insane with desire. Since you were born of the sea, from which you came to land riding on a scallop shell, sea food has been known as an aphrodisiac.
