The Tintin I know is a male
I can't believe I'd forgotten all about
The Adventures of Tintin! Many thanks to my sister who convinced me to spend my National Bookstore GC's on volumes and volumes of Tintin comics. Ok, I didn't really buy that many, but it's a good start from having just one adventure out of the whole set of 24!
As little kids, tt was a series well-loved by both my sister and me. We both were so entertained watching the cartoon series on TV. The animations remained faithful to the original published comics.
Oddly enough, though we loved the series, we owned only one book, Flight 714, and we never followed it up by buying the rest of the series. It was probably because we thought the books sold at such high prices, especially since we based the cost on what we saw from bookstores such as Fully Booked and A Different Bookstore.
Much to our delight, the series was on sale in National Bookstore, and now we have the following adventures (and counting!):
The Black Island
The Crab with the Golden Claws
The Shooting Star
The Secret of the Unicorn
Red Rackham's Treasure
The Seven Crystal Balls
Prisoners of the Sun
We're still lacking 16 out of the total 24 books. Too bad I maxed out my gift certificates. I guess I'll just have to save up and purchase the rest with hard earned sweldo instead. With the price drop at National, though, that shouldn't be a problem.
