Boring-blog

I thought of jumping on the boring-blog bandwagon. Since I haven't really had time to ponder on some profound thought to blog about, I thought of taking these tests and posting them, as do all other bloggers who go through the bloggers' block stage.

The first one is about my Color Aura. What the hell is a color aura? All I know is that I'm one of those rare people who don't have a favorite color. Does this mean that blue should be it? Hahaha... Not really.

Beatlemania (My Version)

Two great finds, both from Artwork. The shirt says "She Loves You... Yeah Yeah Yeah!" And if you don't know where those lyrics came from and can't guess whose faces are on both the shirt and black bandanna, well I'm sorry but perhaps you've been living under a rock! Hint hint: The British flag.



It's THE BEATLES!!! AAAaaaaAAaaah! *screaming like a teenage girl straight out of the 1960s era of Beatlemania.

Stumbling upon these items all of a sudden reminded me of how much I absolutely adore the band.

Alright, so I'm not actually the president of the Beatles Philippine Fan Club (is there such a thing? can i join? heehee...) and neither can I ace a Beatles trivia quiz. But I did grow up listening enough to their songs to appreciate their timeless music. From "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" to "Yellow Submarine", I can sing the lyrics to their greatest hits by heart. I'm actually grateful that my parents exposed me to their music rather than leaving me to listen to the boy bands from when I was a child in my formative years. Gasp! It was the era of Michael Learns to Rock and Meatloaf back then. The horror!

I want to find more Beatles goodies. Can anyone help me out? Does any store sell that at all here? Save for these two finds, finding an item with anything as much as an imprint of their logo is as rare as getting hold of a decent top under 500 pesos from Mango (yes, even when they're on sale).

Or perhaps I'm just not looking hard enough.

Ambition

Ambition - (noun) desire to achieve a particular end

I wonder how some people can live without a clear definition of theirs. Ambition, that is. I've always believed it's that which inspires and fuels us to do our best, to give our all, and to strive for something greater. It serves as our motivation to get up in the morning and do what's necessary to attain our set goals. There no sadder state to me than being content with a ho-hum kind of existence and settling for the ordinary.

Who can live a life without ambition? Well, maybe only those people who are perfectly content with mediocrity and those who can live at peace with themselves making do with what they have and are, although knowing they can achieve so much more. Now THAT IS depressing.

I admire people with ambition. It's what sets them apart from the sell-outs. You just know they're the kind of people to make an impact and do something of worth with their lives.

Lunch Hour

Since it’s lunch hour, everyone’s stepped out of the office, and I just received a horoscope e-mail from a colleague, I thought I’d have a read through it and see just how flaky (or perhaps factual) these things can get. Don’t get me wrong, though. This is the serious, reflective kind and not the ridiculous ones found in Libre, a small newspaper you can pick up for free from MRT stations. Be they serious or comical, I’m cynical about horoscopes, but I thought, “what the heck?” It just might be fun. I decided to comment on each and every paragraph. Here goes:

PISCES
OVERVIEW: Pisces is having a once in a lifetime opportunity for great changes this year. You will be having the time of your life, expressing your loving and compassion to the world and fulfilling your boldest dreams. There won't be a dull moment and you will intuitively know exactly what path to follow and what feels right in your heart.

Gee… I sure do hope so. I ended the previous year with a ‘great change’ indeed when I left my comfort zone and stepped into a newer, more challenging career path. Already, I’m having the time of my life with this new schedule and the feeling of independence this new job is giving me. But since this new lifestyle makes it possible for me to have more alone time, I do get dull moments. Fortunately, it’s during those seemingly dull, hum-drum moments that I get to reflect on what I really want to do with my life. Yeah yeah… I’m turning into the sentimental sap I adamantly denied being!!!

You will feel compelled to grasp new opportunities that manifest self-transformation in your career. Did you say ‘travel’??? The rest of the paragraph’s a blur… All I took notice of was the travel part. I wanna explore the world!!!

Reaheaheaheally now? The opposite sex appreciates THAT about me? I think it’s a double-edged sword actually. My experiences from the previous year have led me to believe that my tendency to be a teeny bit too compassionate and loving misleads many of the guys I’ve come across these past few years. Sure, it's fine on the onset but as things progress, I don’t think they appreciate it about me at all.

Gross… the fireplace-popcorn-romantic movie cuddle up suggestion threw me off again. I’m obviously not ready to get into a relationship and all the mush that comes with it.

So much for analyzing horoscope. I obviously have little or nothing better to do this lunch hour. For someone who claims to be a cynic, though, it seems I kinda spent too much time on this article. It doesn't mean I've completely bought into the whole thing, have I? Course not.
